Richard’s path to becoming a Dr. of Acupuncture started with a personal search for healing. In 2021, he was battling chronic, worsening eczema. While traditional medications offered some relief for his skin, they took a heavy toll on his overall energy, mood, and well-being. Looking for a more holistic approach, Richard decided to try acupuncture. After just four sessions, his skin condition improved significantly, and more importantly, he finally felt great in his own body again.
That experience was life-changing. It inspired Richard to pivot his career toward acupuncture so he could help others who are in pain, feeling stuck, and looking to reclaim their health.
Background & Expertise
Before stepping into the acupuncture clinic, Richard earned a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta and worked as a Licensed Massage Therapist. This background gives him a unique edge in the treatment room: he combines a passion for educating his patients with a deep, hands-on understanding of the human body.
He is well-versed in muscular anatomy, orthopedic assessment, and therapeutic exercises, with a strong focus on promoting deep relaxation of the nervous system.
Clinical Focus
Throughout his clinical training and practice, Richard has developed a strong interest in treating:
Chronic musculoskeletal pain
Insomnia and sleep disturbances
Digestive issues
He is deeply committed to continuous learning and is actively expanding his practice to include treatments for mental health challenges, migraines, systemic inflammation, dry needling, and shockwave therapy.
Treatment Philosophy
Richard’s goal is to work in partnership with his patients to bring about the best possible results. He firmly believes that true healing comes from within. By systematically removing stress factors and de-stressing the body, he helps unlock each patient’s natural healing abilities to achieve their goals for every session.
Off the Clock
When he is not in the clinic, you can usually find Richard exploring the beautiful mountains west of Calgary, hiking with his wife and their dog. He stays active through weightlifting, playing hockey, and boxing. On slower days, he loves checking out local Calgary coffee shops and community markets.

Ana started out in the field of law, having completed a Bachelor of Laws in International and European Law, before pivoting to psychology. She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, and is currently in the process of registering as a Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. She is also Level 2 Certified in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and has completed professional training in the holistic treatment of mental health conditions, looking at factors such as diet, sleep, exercise, and stress.
Our bodies and brains are in constant communion; thus, physical health and mental health are synonymous. Ana is passionate about helping her clients explore the root causes for their mental health concerns and create long-term and sustainable positive change. In doing this, she takes an integrative approach to mental health, with a particular focus on the impact of physical health and gut health on mental health. She infuses gut-health supporting protocols into therapy, looking at ways to optimize diet, exercise, sleep, and stress to best support our bodies and brains by reducing systemic inflammation and chronic stress. Clients will learn to better understand the inner workings of their body and brain, in the aim of becoming more in-tune with their physiology and themself as a whole. Ana’s goal is to help guide her clients on a journey towards understanding themselves and their patterns better, creating more functional and adaptive habits for a richer, more meaningful life.
Outside the office, Ana’s biggest passion is food; you can find her whipping up all sorts of new gut-friendly recipes to test on friends and family, and endlessly perusing cookbooks for inspiration.
